PRIVACY POLICY
- 1 General Provisions
In accordance with Regulation (EU) 2016/679 of the European Parliament and of the Council (GDPR) of 27 April 2016 on the protection of natural persons with regard to the processing of personal data and on the free movement of such data, and repealing Directive 95/46/EC, applicable from 25 May 2018, we hereby provide information on the processing of personal data by the Mobile Open Society through Technology Foundation (MOST) Foundation.
- 2 Data Administrator
The administrator of personal data is the Mobile Open Society through Technology (MOST) Foundation, registered in Warsaw (02-360), at ul. Siewierska 16A/14, entered in the National Court Register under number: 0000176103, NIP: 5213276504, REGON: 015618056 (hereinafter referred to as the Administrator).

II Purposes and grounds for processing personal data
We process data for the following purposes:
Project implementation – Article 6(1)(b) of the GDPR (for the performance of a contract):
Academic Startup League, implemented under the ROP WM 2014-2020,
Erasmus for Young Entrepreneurs,
World Summit Awards,
Modelling System for Innovation Offers (MSODI) reg. no. RPMA.03.01.02-14-b657/18.
Provision of consulting and commercial services.
Fulfilment of legal obligations under the GDPR with regard to the exercise of the rights of the data provider and, in connection with this, the archiving of requests addressed to the Administrator or informing about threats to the privacy of the data provider – Article 6(1)(c) of the GDPR,
Fulfilment of obligations under tax law – Article 6(1)(c) of the GDPR,
Sending information about offers and events organised by the Administrator or cooperating partners in the form of a newsletter or e-mail – Article 6(1)(a) of the GDPR (if consent has been given),
Sending commercial information by electronic means of communication, in accordance with Article 6(1)(f) of the GDPR. a) of the GDPR, this is done on the basis of separate, voluntary consent given to us, which can be withdrawn at any time,
sharing photos with the image of the data provider on the website and in the Administrator’s social media – Article 6(1)(a) of the GDPR (if consent has been given by the data provider).
III Data retention period
Personal data will be stored from the conclusion and performance of the contract – from the moment of registration for the event or participation in the event – until the expiry of the limitation periods. Personal data related to projects will be stored for a period of 5 years from the end of the project. All personal data will be deleted in accordance with data archiving requirements. Other data will be stored in accordance with the law and will be deleted once the purpose has been achieved or the Administrator’s legal obligation has been fulfilled.
IV International data transfer
The MOST Foundation may transfer personal data to third countries for the purpose of using processing services with the use of external IT infrastructure of hosting service providers that meet the GDPR requirements for system security. When transferring data outside the EU, we use legal mechanisms that legally enable the transfer of such data.
In connection with our use of tools such as MailChimp to send newsletters, the recipient of the data is The Rocket Science Group LLC, based in Atlanta, USA. Personal data is transferred to the United States of America and is protected by the EU-US Privacy Shield (Commission Implementing Decision (EU) 2016/1250 of 12 July 2016 on the adequacy of the protection provided by the EU-US Privacy Shield). Personal data is transferred only after obtaining consent for its processing, and consent may be withdrawn at any time.
V Rights of the data subject
Please be advised that in connection with the processing of your personal data, you have the following rights:
- access to your data and copies of your data,
- the right to rectify data (correct your data) and transfer it,
- the right to erasure – if the data subject believes that the Controller has no right to process their data,
- the right to restrict data processing if the data provider believes that the data is incorrect or its processing is unlawful, but does not want the Controller to delete it because it is needed to pursue, establish or defend claims or for the time necessary to determine the validity of the objection,
- Right to object – the data provider may also object to the processing of their data for other purposes if the legal basis for processing is the legitimate interest of the Controller. The request should include the reasons for the objection by specifying the particular situation that gives rise to the objection. The objection will not be upheld if the Controller demonstrates that its legitimate interest overrides the data subject’s claim or that the data subject’s data is necessary for the Controller to establish, pursue or defend claims against the data subject.
- the right to lodge a complaint with the President of the Personal Data Protection Office or another supervisory authority.
- 3 Cookies
- By activating the ‘Accept’ button, the user accepts the placement of cookies on their device by the website when they start using the website.
- Most commonly used browsers allow you to check whether cookies have been installed on your device, as well as delete installed cookies and block their installation in the future by a website or other websites. Please note that deleting or blocking cookies may cause problems with the use of the website.
- The administrator uses cookies for the following purposes:
- tailoring the content of the website to the individual preferences of the user; above all, these files recognise the user’s device in order to display the website in accordance with their preferences.
- preparing statistics that help to understand user preferences and behaviour; the analysis of these statistics is anonymous and allows the content and appearance of the website to be adapted to current trends; statistics are also used to assess the popularity of the website.
- Users of the Website may change their cookie settings at any time. Detailed information about the possibilities and ways of handling cookies is available in the software settings (web browser).
- The administrator informs that restrictions on the use of cookies may affect some of the functionalities available on the Foundation’s website.
